Manchester United Injury Woes Continue

Manchester United’s horror preseason just took another freaky step as injuries continue to hit the squad. The preseason tour which is meant to keep players in shape has gone sour after senior players Ander Herrera and Eric Bailly got injured, leaving Jose Mourinho’s side without 17 players.

Eric Bailly picked up and ankle knock during the victory over AC Milan while Herrera suffered a similar fate after the clash against Liverpool in Michigan on Saturday.

Bailly had to endure pains and play against Liverpool as Chris Smalling picked up an injury during the warm-up. Luke Shaw also is out injured as United’s preseason’s performance were woeful.

Like Eric and Herrera, Smalling has now joined a list that now consists of Nemanja Matic, Antonio Valencia, Marcos Rojo, Diogo Dalot and Sergio Romero.

The just completed World Cup also took a toll on the squad as Paul Pogba, Marouane Fellaini, Jesse Lingard, Romelu Lukaku, Ashley Young, Phil Jones, Marcus Rashford and Victor Lindelof are on extended break after taking time off following the World Cup.

Also away from the squad is Anthony Martial who went home to Paris to be with his family following the birth of his son. Mourinho has hit out at the Want-away player who has been given little chance to succeed, asking why he is not back to camp.
