France 1-0 Belgium

In the first of the world cup’s semi-finals, Les Bleus made it to their second consecutive final in major international competitions. Belgium on the back of defeating last world cup’s hosts, Brazil put up a good fight against the French only to see all their good work undone by a Samuel Umtiti header in the 51st-minute. France now advance to the world cup final on Sunday in Moscow as favorites and would hoping there is no repeat of their Euro 2016 loss.

England 1-2 Croatia (a.e.t)

Croatia completed a remarkable turnaround in the second semi-final of the world cup after going down to a Kieran Trippier free-kick five minutes into the game. The Croats playing their third consecutive 120 minutes were predicted to suffer from fatigue in the game against England but that was not to be the case as Ivan Perisic netted a superb equaliser to take the game to extra-time. In the 109th minute, Mario Mandzukic stole past England’s defence to net the winner as the Croatians wheeled away in celebration.
