Premier League to Trial VAR After International Break

The Premier League will no longer wait till next season to trial VAR as the FA officials have decided to put the system to test after the international break.

Premier League is one of the few top leagues that have not adopted the system though they have been plans to use it in some selected FA matches and also used in the Carabao Cup.

The trial will involve over five Saturday Premier League games at 3 pm on September 15. The matches will be watched by the video assistant team but decisions made will not be used on the pitch as there will be no communication between the video assistant team and the on-field referee.

The trial is intended to show whether the video team can handle many fixtures at one time and also match onfield demands.
