While the club’s CEO Ed Woodward has backed Mourinho, Zidane has been placed on standby and is expected to be contacted once things spiral out of control.
According to Mirror, Zidane has identified possible transfer targets to turn things around. The list includes Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos, Bayern Munich’s Thiago Alcantara, James Rodriguez – currently on loan at Bayern from Real Madrid – and Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani
Zidane who has proven himself at Real Madrid with three consecutive Champions League trophies, two UEFA Super Cup, Two Club World Cup and 1 La Liga trophy is determined to manage a club in England.
Any further slip up in Premier League or Champions League is likely to see Mourinho sacked. Earlier today we reported that another Frenchman and Manchester United Great Eric Cantona is also interested in taking up the Old Trafford Job.
