Chelsea player Michael Essien strongly believes that the Blues have what it takes to win this season’s English Premiere League based on recent performance.
According to the Ghanaian player who is currently enjoying a successful term at Stamford Bridge, the team assembled by new Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri is capable of clinching the premiere league title following a strong head start in the game.
Despite Chelsea finishing fifth in the last season -30 points away from Manchester City – they have been going on strongly in this new season and remain the only team yet to be defeated after eight games.
Although the Blues have had a good start, their Italian manager believes that Manchester City and Liverpool are ahead of his team.
However, Michael Essien is very optimistic about his team’s win, and he does not hesitate to show how impressed he is.
He says the team has been very good and they have had excellent start. He believes that they are playing very good football.
“Fingers crossed that will continue to the end. They can win it. The Premier League is there to be won, so fingers crossed,”
The Ghanaian midfielder has spent over a decade in Chelsea and is of their longest running players.
Chelsea is set to play against Manchester United after the premiere league resumes from the international break.
